  • The Memorial Room of Đorđe Stanojević was opened on April 7, 1992. It houses numerous photographs and documents that vividly illustrate the life and work of Đorđe Stanojević – the man who illuminated Serbia by introducing the first electric lighting in Belgrade and constructing the first hydroelectric power plants in the country
  • Stanojević is among the most prominent Serbian scientists and researchers, a physicist, Serbia’s first astrophysicist, a professor at the Great School, and a professor and rector at the University of Belgrade
  • Many scientific achievements were introduced to Serbia thanks to him: he brought the first X-ray machine, installed the first radiotelegraph station, introduced the first refrigeration devices, and captured the first color photograph in Serbia
