  • The building of the Ministry of Justice at 41 Terazije Street was erected in 1883, by the design of architect Svetozar Ivačković, in cooperation with the engineer Jovan Subotić.
  • It originally had two entrances, one of which was closed in 1910, during renovations.
  • The facade is made in the Neo-Renaissance style, modeled on the appearances of Italian Renaissance palaces.
  • The time of its building coincides with the proclamation of the Kingdom of Serbia and the building of the Old Court Palace in its immediate vicinity. These edifices gradually established Terazije as the representative-administrative hub of the capital.
  • It is one of the few preserved ministry buildings from the 19th century, and thus an important testimony to the development of public administration in Serbia.
