  • The Monument to the Liberators of Belgrade 1806 in Karađorđe’s Park is the oldest public monument in Belgrade. It was erected by Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević in 1848 in memory of the liberators of Belgrade in the First Serbian Uprising.
  • Karađorđe’s Park is located at a historical site where in 1806 a camp was set by the Serbian army, led by Karađorđe, during the siege of Belgrade. Soldiers killed in the battle were buried here and the place was arranged as the Insurgents Cemetery. Out of the 50 original tombstones from the insurgent cemetery, 12 still survive, placed in a row during the arranging of the park
