  • During the 18th century, it was turned into Belgrade Fortress’s most famous dungeon. Because of this role, the tower became one of Belgrade’s darkest symbols.
  • Its most famous prisoner was the Greek revolutionary Rigas Feraios, who was executed in the tower in 1798.
  • Nebojša Tower has been destroyed and rebuilt many times, with extra parts built onto it. The last and most extensive reconstruction of the tower was finished in 2010.
  • Today, the tower serves as a modern exhibition space with themed exhibitions on four levels.
