  • The first Bishop’s Palace was erected near the then newly-built Cathedral Church. This building was destroyed in 1849 during the bombings of Novi Sad.
  • The present-day Palace was built in 1901 during the time of Bishop Mitrofan Šević, very near to the spot where the old Palace used to stand.
  • It was built according to the project of architect Vladimir Nikolić and considered to be his masterpiece.
  • In regards to the architectural and stylistic solutions, the Palace was made under the influence of Viennese architect Theophil Hansen.
  • This stunning structure is one of the landmarks of Novi Sad.
