- Bitef Theater is located at the Mira Trailović Square in Dorćol, right next to the Bajloni green market. The theatre is housed in a reconstructed Evangelist church.
- The construction of the church commenced in 1940 and was initiated by the German Evangelist Christian church. The design architect was Otto Bartning.
- In 1942, the Second World War stopped the construction of the church, so the building was not completed, and probably never consecrated, and thus it never fully acquired its sacred purpose.
- After the war, the building was nationalized and handed over to the city of Belgrade. During the 1990s, it was reconstructed and adapted to the needs of the Bitef Theater.
