- During his Blue phase, which lasted from 1929 to 1933, he created over 200 high-quality works of art, which marked the beginning of his artistic maturity
- In 1931 he organised his first solo exhibition at the Bing Gallery in Paris. A year later he organised another solo exhibition at the Van Leer Gallery and presented eight Parisian paintings alongside other paintings with Vojvodina motifs
- In 1932 he organized two large solo exhibitions at the Cvijeta Zuzorić Art Pavilion, and a year later in Zagreb at the Ulrich Gallery
