- The building in 33 Knez Mihailova Street was erected in 1889 by merchant Nikola Spasić. It was designed by architect Konstantin Jovanović, as a residential and commercial two-storey building. The function of the building, which housed shops on the ground floor and apartments on the first floor, was matching to most of the other buildings in Knez Mihailova Street at that time.
- Nikola Spasić was a successful leather merchant, philanthropist and a great endowment holder. He bequeathed all his property to his country. His name is associated to several main buildings in Knez Mihailova Street.
