  • In 1939, she created her masterpiece – “A Self-Portrait with a Veil” – which is comparable to famous examples of Renaissance art.
  • In 1940, she had her first “American” exhibition, in which compositions from her European period were displayed.
  • At the beginning of 1943, she exhibited her work at the United Yugoslav Relief Fund in New York. After that, the exhibition was transferred to Washington.
