  • The Museum is located in the building of the old electrical power plant in Dorćol, in 51 Skender-begova Street. It is a cultural institution of national importance.
  • The primary activities of the museum are collection, research, protection and presentation of scientific and technical goods with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of these, as well as the popularization of science and modern scientific achievements.
  • The most significant items of the Museum’s collection are exhibited on several permanent displays, and various other items are also being presented during occasional exhibitions.
  • The courtyard of the museum is the site of the first public electrical power plant in Serbia which began working on October 5th, 1893. Belgrade thus became the first city in Serbia to have electric public and household lighting.
