  • The Palace Igumanov was built in 1938. The building was designed by architects Petar and Branko Krstić, in the style of modernism.
  • It was built by Sima Andrejević Igumanov (1804—1882), a Serbian merchant and a great benefactor.
  • On the front of the facade there is an inscription text: “Endowment of Sima Andrejević Igumanov Prizrenac”. In 1872, Igumanov opened a theological school-teachers college in Prizren, which was financed by the rent gathered from this building in Belgrade.
  • After the Second World War, the Igumanov’s endowment ceased to operate, and the building was nationalized.
  • At the top of the building was originally a sculpture of Sime Igumanov with orphans, the work of sculptor Lojza Dolinar. The sculpture was removed in 1950, most likely for ideological reasons. The sculpture of the same appearance was returned to the same place in 2021.
